Chasing Tunes talks about Sam Smith cancelling Aussie Tour !

Sam Smith has cancelled his Australian tour.

The British singer was due to perform in Sydney on Tuesday, having taken to the stage in the city on Monday night. However, not long before he was due to entertain fans he confirmed he was unable to sing on doctors’ orders.

‘I am deeply, deeply saddened to tell my Australian fans, I have to cancel my Australian tour. I have been vocally exhausted for a while now however last night in Sydney I had a small haemorrhage on my vocal chords,” he said in a statement issued by Frontier Touring.

It means the 22-year-old star has no option but to rest or he could makes things worse. As well as missing shows, the star has been forced to pull out of the 57th TV Week Logie Awards too.

“The doctors have told me I need to fully rest until my vocal chords have healed, otherwise this could become a huge long-term issue. I am so sorry to all who have bought tickets, I truly am. This kills me,” he added.

The statement was posted on the Frontier Touring website, where it was also confirmed there are plans for Sam to complete tour dates in December.

People with tickets for the cancelled shows will be given first refusal if this goes ahead.

Up until now 2015 has been a great year for Sam. He took home four Grammys, including Record of the Year for Stay with Me, and two Brit Awards. He’s also up for a staggering 13 Billboard Awards and has received a nomination for a prestigious Ivor Novello Award.
